- Blow-by gas exiting the combustion chamber car mixed with engine oil and coming back up during the intake stroke. Under normal conditions, oil collects in the intercooler, but blowback can cause parts related to intake, such as the airflow meter, to become clogged with oil. The NISMO oil separator separates the oil from the blowback gases returning from the cylinder head during the intake stroke, which limits the amount of oil deposited in the intercooler.
